At the New Year's Eve Renewal Service crossing into 2026, guest minister Rev. Dr. Oheneba Boadum preaches from Psalm 126: God is bringing testimonies so extraordinary that outsiders will praise Him first — "look what the Lord has done for them" — while the recipients are still in the dream. These awesome deeds arrive through four pillars: power that breaks cycles, the Spirit that refreshes, the word that sustains across generations, and the blood of the eternal covenant that resurrects.
The seven movements
- Testimonies that start outside. When the Lord restored Zion's fortunes, the restored were like dreamers — and the nations said "the Lord has done great things for them" before Israel could say it themselves. 2026's deliverances will be that kind: by awesome deeds He answers us (Psalm 126:1-3; Psalm 65:5).
- Pillar 1 — power, the finger of God. Pharaoh's enchanters matched Jehovah three rounds, then failed at the gnats and confessed, "this is the finger of God." The finger that inscribed stone tablets, hung the planets, and wrote Belshazzar's judgment breaks every repeating cycle — and the testimony comes even from the pit of hell (Exodus 8:19; 31:18; Daniel 5:5; Luke 11:20).
- The power defined. It is the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe — the same power God worked when He raised Jesus from the dead (Ephesians 1:17-21).
- Pillar 2 — the Spirit that refreshes. "Restore our fortunes like the streams in the Negev": the torrent that floods dry ground. Elizabeth in menopause conceived when the Spirit gushed over what medicine called finished — and her neighbors rejoiced first. Quickening for mortal bodies, correction for what biology closed (Psalm 126:4; Luke 1:57-58; Romans 8:11).
- Pillar 3 — the word that transforms the environment. Ezekiel 16: God didn't lift the infant out of the blood — He said "Live," and the poison became nourishment. Out of the eater, something to eat; the bloodline meant to destroy becomes support. And the word stalks its carrier from pit to palace like Joseph's (Ezekiel 16:6; Judges 14:14; Genesis 39:2-4).
- The word is transgenerational. Rain gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater — between seed and bread lie many stages, each a generation. Pray for your own seed-promise and for the bread of your fathers' promises (Isaiah 55:10-13).
- Pillar 4 — the blood of the eternal covenant. The God of peace raised the great Shepherd from the dead by that blood — and by the same blood He makes you complete. Power breaks, the Spirit revives, the word sustains, the blood resurrects: the four-fold encounter for the new year (Hebrews 13:20-21).
Walk away with this
Enter 2026 praying for the four encounters by name — power over your cycles, the Spirit over your dryness, the word over your environment and your children, the blood over everything incomplete — until the people watching your life say it first: look what the Lord has done.
